Authentic Restoration Techniques.

Historic homes need someone who understands old construction methods. I can create custom trim profiles using traditional molder machines, something most contractors can’t do. This means when your original trim is damaged or missing, I can make exact matches instead of settling for something close. I restore original windows and doors, repair plaster walls the right way, and recreate decorative elements that might have been removed over the years. I can also restore original hardwood floors and built-in cabinetry to their original condition.

Preserving Character While Improving Function.

Your historic home should keep its character while meeting modern needs. I know how to add insulation, update electrical, or improve heating without destroying original features. When I need to make changes, they blend seamlessly with what’s already there.

If you need period-appropriate hardware or fixtures, I know where to find them. I can work with salvage materials when that makes sense. The goal is always to respect what makes your home special while making it comfortable to live in today.

Working with Historic Materials.

Old homes are built differently than new ones. That “2×4” in your wall is actually 2 inches by 4 inches, not like today’s smaller lumber. The wood is often harder and denser, which means I need different techniques and tools. Plaster and lath walls behave differently than drywall. I understand these differences and adjust my methods accordingly. This experience means fewer surprises and better results.

Why Choose Us.

Our unique training in custom millwork sets us apart for historic restoration. Learning from my grandfather’s traditional woodworking methods and operating profile molder machines gives us capabilities most contractors lack. We can recreate trim profiles and architectural details that would otherwise require expensive custom orders or compromises. This specialized knowledge, combined with respect for craftsmanship, ensures your historic home gets the care it deserves.
